our go-to guidance to

Loading + PUlling

ONE

When empty, ensure THE trailer is riding level or at a slight nose-hgih angle.

TWO

When loading, take care to position the heaviest items directly over the axles. Moderately heavy items up front, lightest items at the TRAILER’S REAR.

Three

Once loaded, the trailer should remain level or at a slight nose-high angle: if the tongue is lower than the trailer your load requires adjustment.

four

Start SLOW!! Depart slowly to ensure the weight of your load is distributed correctly. Trailer-sway from an unbalanced load can quickly cause an accident.

five

Bumps and wind. bumps will cause the trailer to bounce, keep your speed constant and it will subside. wind is your enemy; it will push your trailer side-to-side. again, keep your speed constant and it will rectify itself. if your vehicle is in the center of your lane, your trailer is right behind you.

Six

bow-waves! semis part air and create a very large “bow-wave” when they travel at speed. if meeting one, keep your speed constant and your hands steady on the wheel. when overtaking one, OR two hands on the wheel and in an expeditions manner is best. never cruise behind or beside a semi.

Seven

do not cruise in the left/passing/fast lane! when fellow motorists see any vehicle towing a trailer they assume you are slow nad want to pass you. cruise in the right lane, transfer to the left when necessary, then return to the right lane.
